As a service brat, I grew up in many parts of the country until I landed in Hood River in 1983 and to be honest, I can’t imagine living anywhere else on earth. The Mid-Columbia region is truly my idea of heaven on earth. I live within minutes of skiing, swimming, hiking … and on those days when I feel like partaking of something a little more metropolitan, it’s a 60-minute drive into Portland, or I can catch the train in Vancouver for a weekend trip to Seattle. What could be better?

In the years I’ve lived in Hood River, I’ve worked for the court system, co-owned restaurants, did a stint as a DJ on the local radio station and later became a radio ad sales rep. In late 2004, I was licensed as an Oregon real estate broker and in 2005, I qualified as a real estate agent in Washington.

I have watched our little community change from the sleepy little 5-minute stop off I-84 while traveling east into a place where people travel from all over the world to visit and enjoy. Our rich agricultural heritage continues to thrive, while people line up for fresh sushi at local restaurants and (typical to most of the northwest) we offer lattes and cappuccinos at all hours of the day.
