In the late ‘80’s I started visiting The Gorge…

with my family. Avid windsurfers, they encouraged me to take up the sport, but it wasn’t until after college that I caught the addictive windsurfing “bug”.  In 1993, I made the trek from Seattle to The Gorge every possible weekend, and in ’94 I officially moved to The Gorge.  I have never looked back and have called Hood River home ever since, buying my current home in 1995 through Don Nunamaker, Realtors.

But the traveling “bug” took over as I started competing in windsurfing all around the globe. My travels took me all over the U.S., to Mexico, Europe, Australia and eventually to Maui, Hawaii, where I met my husband, Christ Gilbert, and became involved in the exploding sport of kiteboarding.  For the next 6 years we spent winters in Maui and summers in Hood River.

As professional kiteboarders…

We traveled to some of the most amazing places on earth, but there was only one placed we called home—The Gorge.  Each time we returned here, I marveled at how the beauty of the Columbia Gorge rivaled that of all the exotic places we visited.  The diversity of The Gorge is unique—the river, the numerous snow-capped mountains, the orchards, the forests, the lakes—you name it!

In 2004, my husband and I chose to come back to Hood River and to make it our permanent home…

and we couldn’t be happier. Chris works for DaKine and I work with the Don Nunamaker Team.  We started our family and now have two wonderful children—Ashton and Ali—who keep us busy and very happy.  I couldn’t think of a better community to be in or a better career to have.  We have loved owning a classic Craftsman home, doing the rewarding hard work of remodeling it (with help), and look forward to the day we build our dream home here in The Gorge.

I have become fascinated with the real estate market, and I am eager to help others enjoy the benefits of property ownership.  The Columbia Gorge is a wonderful place to live and a great place to vacation.  Whether you enjoy it full time or part time, the rewards are plentiful.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

As a professional athlete for 6 years prior to becoming a Realtor, my income was dependent on my skill, dedication, marketing and also on my communication skills.  Prior to kiteboarding and windsurfing, I was involved in the business of advertising, radio ad sales, television commentating, freelance writing, business management, marketing and sales.

HOBBIES:

Playing with our two children, kiteboarding, windsurfing, mountain biking, snowboarding, skiing, hiking, photography and writing.
